I intended to go to Gotton in Nonami this morning. I supposed that the path toward the fishing spot was overgrown with thorny weeds. I wanted to cut them while walking down on the path, but, to my surprise, the parking space for Gotton was already occupied when I arrived about 7 a.m. Japan is in the so-called “Golden Week,” a series of national holidays from April 29 to May 5. All fishing spots in Owashi and Nonami seemed crowded except for Saruwatari and Safuki-bana. I was not sure why those two spots were available while others were occupied. They are among the most tough fishing spots in Nonami. Maybe that’s the reason. I was tempted to try one of them, but I also knew that the waves could be too high soon. So I decided to be satisfied only with throwing my lures from the nameless breakwater at Owashi Harbor.
（今朝は、野波のゴットンに行くつもりでした。釣り場に向かう道には棘のある雑草が生い茂っているはずだと思いました。小道を歩き下りながら雑草を刈るつもりでいましたが、午前７時頃にゴットンへ行くための駐車スペースに到着してみると、なんと既に埋まっていたのです。日本は、４月29日から５月５日までの、いわゆるゴールデンウィーク中です。大芦と野波の釣り場は、猿渡とサフキ鼻を除いて、どこも混雑していました。他の釣り場が埋まっているのに、なぜこの２つだけ空いているのでしょうか。野波の釣り場の中でも最もタフな釣り場だからかもしれません。どちらかの釣り場を試してみたい気もしましたが、すぐに波が高くなり過ぎるかもしれないと思いました。なので、大芦港の名もない防波堤からルアーを投げることだけで満足することにしました。）
