I was cruising along the winding seaside road in Mitsu this morning. I was wondering where to go fishing when I saw one fisherman standing at Senjojiki. Senjojiki is one of the most popular fishing spots in the area, but, whenever I had fished there, I had been alone all along, keeping the huge flat fishing spot all to myself. And I had not caught anything there. So I got intrigued by the fact that someone was there. Wondering it might mean I would have a greater chance to catch fish today, I walked down to the fishing spot. As soon as I started throwing my lures, the fisherman talked to me. He said he had come from one of neighboring prefectures for the yellowtail amberjack, and he was not very familiar with fishing spots in the area. So I gave him some tips about where he could have a greater chance to catch the fish. It was a nice chat, and it was good helping a friendly fisherman like him.
（今朝、私は御津の曲がりくねった海沿いの道を運転していました。どこに釣りに行こうか迷っていたところ、千畳敷に立つ一人の釣り人を見かけたのです。千畳敷はこの辺りでは最も人気のある釣り場の一つなのですが、これまでそこで釣りをした時は、いつだって私一人しかおらず、広大で平たい釣り場を独り占めしていたのでした。そして、何も釣れたことがありませんでした。ですので、そこに人がいるという事実に興味を引かれました。今日は釣れるかもしれないな、と思いながら、釣り場に降りていきました。ルアーを投げ始めると、その釣り人が話しかけてきました。隣の県からヒラマサを狙いに来たそうなのですが、この辺りの釣り場にはあまり詳しくないようです。そこで私は、釣れる確率の高い釣り場を教えてあげました。彼のような気さくな釣り人を手助けできて、とてもいい気分でした。）
