As I explained in my last post, I had come up with an interpretation of the width of the spool edge of Ohmori Factory’s Tackle-Auto No.4. That discovery got me more excited than usual when I was on my way to Safuki-bana this afternoon. The Tackle-Auto No.4 had an additional weapon for fighting with a big fish. You can hold the wide spool edge to slow down the spin of the spool. I thought to myself in my car, “In order to know whether my interpretation is valid or not, I need to fight with a big fish.” I wanted to start fishing as soon as possible. However, it took me much more time than usual to reach the parking space for Safuki-bana. The cherry blossoms along Cherry Road in Nonami were still in full bloom, and the cars in front of mine moved as slowly as a snail in order to enjoy the gorgeous view from inside the cars. When I finally reached the parking space, I couldn't help swear. The small jizo (a stone statue in the form of a Buddhist monk) standing at the side of the parking space must have heard it. I didn't catch any fish at Safuki-bana. I wondered if I had offended the jizo with my swear word and that was why no fish responded to my lures.
（前回の投稿で説明したように、私は、大森製作所のタックル・オート No.4のスプールエッジの幅について、一つの解釈を思いついたのでした。この発見のおかげで、今日の午後、サフキ鼻に向かう途中の私は、いつもより興奮していたのです。タックル・オート No.4には、大物とファイトするための武器がもう一つあるのでした。幅の広いスプールエッジを握ることで、スプールの回転を遅くすることができるのです。車の中で私は思いました。「この解釈が正しいかどうかは、実際に大きな魚とファイトしてみないとわからないな」と。私は一刻も早く釣りを始めたい気分でした。しかし、サフキ鼻の駐車場に着くのに、いつもよりずっと時間がかかってしまったのです。野波のチェリーロード沿いの桜はまだ満開であり、私の前を行く車はカタツムリのようにゆっくりと進み、車内からの眺めを楽しんでいるのでした。ようやく駐車スペースにたどり着いた時、私は思わず悪態をついてしまいました。それが、駐車場の脇に立つ小さなお地蔵さんに聞こえてしまったのに違いありません。サフキ鼻で、魚は釣れませんでした。私は思いました。悪態をついてお地蔵さんを怒らせてしまったから、魚たちは無反応なのだろうか、と。）
