Last time when I was at Saruwatari in Nonami, I was surrounded with plenty of small baitfish and saw some predatory fish chasing them vigorously. Unfortunately my lures then were way bigger than the size of those baitfish, so this time I carried a few of my smallest lures in order to imitate them better. However, there was no baitfish at all this morning, and therefore, there was no predatory fish. I kept casting not only my smallest lures but also my larger ones from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. The sea remained unresponsive all along.
（前回、野波の猿渡で釣った時、私は、小さなベイトフィッシュ（大きな魚の餌となる小魚）の大群に囲まれ、活発にそれらを追いかける肉食魚を目撃しました。ただあいにく、前回持ち出したルアーは、そうしたベイトフィッシュのサイズよりもずっと大きかったのです。今回は、よりよくベイトフィッシュを模倣できるよう、私が所有するルアーの中でも一番小さいものをいくつか持ち出しました。ところが今朝は、まったくベイトフィッシュの姿がなく、したがって、肉食魚の姿もなかったのでした。私は、一番小さいルアーに加え、より大きなルアーも、午前７時から10時まで投げ続けました。海はずっと無反応なままでした。）
