There was a strong wind blowing from the east this morning. I decided to come back to Owashi area. As a result of my scouting conducted in Mitsu and Owashi areas the day before yesterday, I thought there was a good chance that I would catch nice Japanese sea bass in sarashi (white churning water) around a small peninsula, whose tip is called Susumi-hana. At 6:30 a.m. I started the run-and-gun style fishing at Mizushiri, the spot that lies in the west of the peninsula, and slowly advanced to the tip of it. As I had anticipated, some nice patches of sarashi were formed around Susumi-hana.
（今朝は強い風が東から吹いていました。私は大芦地区に再び行ってみることに決めました。一昨日、御津と大芦地区で行った偵察の結果、須々海鼻をその先端とする小さな半島の周辺にあるサラシ（かき混ぜられた白い水）の中で、良い型のスズキが釣れる可能性が高いと考えたのです。午前６時30分、半島の西側にある釣り場、水尻からラン＆ガン方式で釣り始め、ゆっくりと半島の先端に向かって進んでいきました。予測していた通り、須々海鼻の周辺には、良さそうなサラシがいくつか形成されていました。）
I carefully cast my lures and retrieved them under sarashi, but nothing happened. I moved clockwise at the tip of peninsula, and continued the run-and-gun style fishing while slowly advancing eastward. Finally I reached Maruiwa, the spot that lies in the east of the peninsula, without catching any fish. I climbed across the ridge of the peninsula and got down to Mizushiri, the starting point of today’s fishing. It took me about 3 hours to complete the round trip. Just when I returned to the parking space, another car arrived. The driver was a lure fisherman who came all the way from Fukuyama City in Hiroshima Prefecture. I gave some local information to him. He was a talkative fisherman and we enjoyed chatting for a while.
（私は注意深くルアーを投げ、サラシの下を引いてみました。でも、何も起きません。半島の先端で時計回りに動き、ゆっくりと東に進みながら、ラン＆ガン方式で釣り続けました。半島の東側にある釣り場、丸岩にとうとう到着しましたが、魚は何も釣れません。半島の尾根をよじ登って横切り、今日の釣りの出発点である水尻に降りていきました。半島一周旅行を終えるのに約３時間かかりました。駐車スペースに戻った時、ちょうど一台の車が到着しました。運転されていたのは、はるばる広島県の福山市からやって来られたルアー釣り師でした。私は彼に地元の情報を提供しました。話し好きな方だったので、私たちはしばらくおしゃべりを楽しみました。）
