Most parts of Japan is in the middle of the rainy season called “Tsuyu,” but the Sanin Region has not had much rain so far. The weather forecast said the trend would change soon. They predicted that it would start raining this afternoon and might keep raining for several days. I had to take advantage of the fine weather this morning before the arrival of rain. So I went to Maruiwa in Owashi. According to a few fishing reports, the yellowtail amberjack seem to have come closer to the shore. I kept throwing my favorite topwater plugs, such as the Super Strike Little Neck Popper and Roberts Ranger, for about 30 minutes from Maruiwa, but nothing happened. Small baitfish were plenty along the shore. So I felt I might be able to catch the fish next time.
（日本の大部分は梅雨の真っ只中にありますが、山陰地方は、今のところ、まだそれほど雨が降っていません。しかし天気予報によると、まもなく状況が変わるようです。今日の午後から雨が降り始め、数日間降り続くかもしれないと予想されていました。雨が降ってくる前に、今朝の好天を利用しなければと思った私は、大芦の丸岩へ行きました。いくつかの釣果報告によると、ヒラマサが接岸しているようなのです。スーパーストライク・リトルネックポッパーやロバーツ・レンジャーなどのお気に入りのトップウォーター・プラグを30分ほど、丸岩から投げ続けましたが、何も起きませんでした。ただ、岸辺には小さなベイトフィッシュ（大きな魚の餌となる小魚）がたくさんいたので、次回は釣れるかもしれないと思いました。）
