One of my new friends, who is going to make a presentation at my upcoming “shinsho” book club, played the piano today at Grand Toit (Shimane Arts Center) in Masuda City. She supported students of Masuda High School singing songs and playing music at the institute. It took me about 4 hours to get to Grand Toit from my place in Matsue City. It was a long drive for me, so I needed to take a few breaks. First, I stopped at Sanpiko Gotsu, one of roadside stations in Gotsu City, and ate biryani that a young South Asian lady was selling. It was the best biryani I had ever eaten. I got tempted to come back soon. Then, I stopped at Hashi Beach in Hamada City and threw my favorite lures toward the Sea of Japan. Rightfully I did not expect any fish to respond to my lures. Still, the beauty of the sea tempted me to come back soon. And, of course, the music played by the friend of mine with the high school students tempted me to come back soon.
（私の新しい友人の一人であり、近々開かれる「新書」読書会で発表をしてくれる予定の人が、今日、益田市のグラントワ（島根県芸術文化センター）でピアノを演奏しました。彼女は、益田高校の生徒たちが歌って演奏するのをサポートしたのです。松江市の私の自宅からグラントワまで行くのに約４時間かかりました。私にとっては長距離ドライブです。何度か休憩が必要でした。まず、江津市の道の駅「サンピコごうつ」で車を止めて、南アジア系の若い女性が売っていたビリヤニを食べました。今まで食べた中でいちばん美味しいビリヤニでした。私は、またすぐに来たくなりました。次に、浜田市の波子海水浴場に立ち寄り、日本海に向かってお気に入りのルアーを投げました。魚がルアーに反応するわけなどないと分かってはいましたが、それでも、海の美しさを見て、またすぐに来たくなりました。そしてもちろん、私の友人が高校生たちといっしょに演奏する音楽を聴いて、またすぐに来たくなりました。）
