My losing streak (or “winning streak” from the perspective of “non-fishing”) continues. This morning I was at the tip of a big rock at Kurauchi Bay. I threw my favorite plugs, and nothing happened to them, but I didn’t care because collecting “Bebe” shellfish might be my primary purpose of being there this morning. After enjoying the breakfast with clear soup made from the fresh shellfish, I went to Lake Shinji. Although I was almost confident that the Japanese sea bass were rare around my favorite fishing spots on the northern shore of the lake, I didn’t like to give up the hope. The fish used to be plenty just a few years ago. I like to think they would come back. Instead of the Japanese sea bass, the chinu fish (the Japanese black porgies) seem plenty in the lake now. There were a few bait fishermen on the shore for chinu. To my surprise, one of them was a fishing friend of mine, who had appeared on this blog before. He is not only an avid fisherman but also a creator of innovative fishing tools and a YouTuber of charming fishing videos. His products are basically for bait fishermen, so I am afraid that I won’t have a chance to use them by myself, but I know they say his tools are useful. If you are interested, check out his site.
（私の連敗記録は続いています（「無魚釣り」の観点から見れば「連勝記録」）。今朝は、倉内湾の大きな岩の先端に立っていました。お気に入りのプラグを投げましたが、何も起きません。しかし私は気にしません。今朝あそこに行った最大の目的は、ベベ貝を採ることだったのかもしれないのですから。私は、採れたてのベベ貝で作ったすまし汁で朝食を済ませると、こんどは宍道湖へ行きました。湖の北岸にあるお気に入りの釣り場周辺にスズキはほとんどいないことを半ば確信していましたが、私は希望を捨てたくなかったのです。ほんの数年前まで、スズキはそこにたくさんいたのです。いつか戻ってくるのだと信じたいのです。今は、スズキの代わりに、チヌ（黒鯛）がたくさんいるようです。岸辺には数人のエサ釣り師がいてチヌを狙っています。驚いたことに、そのうちの一人は、以前このブログにも何度か登場したことのある私の釣り友達でした。彼は熱心な釣り人であるだけでなく、革新的な釣り道具の開発者であり、愉快な釣り系YouTuberでもあります。彼の製品は、エサ釣り用なので、残念ながら私自身が使う機会はないと思いますが、彼の作った道具は便利だと人々が言っていることは承知しています。興味があれば、彼のサイトをチェックしてみてくださいね。）
