One of my old classmates and I planned to go to Saruwatari this morning, but the fishing spot was already taken when we arrived at the parking space for it about 6:30 a.m. I decided to introduce him to Safuki-bana, another hard core fishing spot along Cherry Road in Nonami. I told him that it would be more tiring and dangerous than to go to Saruwatari. Indeed, he got very tired when he managed to reach Safuki-bana with me. Whereas he stayed there all along, I went to the farther shore beyond Safuki-bana. Only when the sea is calm like this morning can I do that. There were occasional boils around Safuki-bana, but no fish responded to our lures at all. Before we got too tired for returning to the parking space, we called it a day. When we returned to our cars, the old classmate looked very tired again, saying, “This is definitely more tiring than Saruwatari.”
（今朝は、昔の同級生と猿渡に行く予定を立てていましたが、午前６時半頃に駐車場に着いた時には、すでに先客がいました。そこで、野波のチェリーロード沿いにある、これまたハードコアな釣り場、サフキ鼻を彼に紹介することにしたのです。私は彼に、猿渡に行くより疲れるし危ないよ、と言いました。たしかに彼はとても疲れたようですが、なんとか私と一緒にサフキ鼻にたどり着きました。彼がずっとそこにいた一方で、私はサフキ鼻を超えた磯にまで行ってみました。今朝のように海が凪の時しかできないことです。サフキ鼻の周辺では、時折ナブラが見られましたが、ルアーへの魚の反応は全くありません。駐車場に戻るのが億劫になるほど疲れる前に、今日はおしまいとしました。車に戻ると、昔の同級生はまた激疲れの様子。「猿渡より、こっちの方が断然疲れる」とのことでした。）
