Although they were not plenty, there were small baitfish around at Maruiwa in Owashi this morning. In addition, typical summer fish, such as the pearl-spot chromis, were swimming around, too. The sea was calm, and the water was pretty clear. The typical summer sea made me feel typical summer predators, such as the barracuda, mahi-mahi, and striped bonito, might attack my not-very-typical topwater lures, such as the Roberts Ranger, at any moment. However, I couldn’t stay long enough to see such a strike happen due to the extreme heat.
（今朝、大芦の丸岩には、数は多くありませんでしたが、小さなベイトフィッシュ（大きな魚の餌となる小魚）がいました。また、夏の代表的な魚、スズメダイなども泳いでいました。海は穏やかで、透明度もかなり高いのでした。典型的な夏の海であり、カマスやシイラ、ハガツオなど典型的な夏の捕食魚が、ロバーツ・レンジャーなどそれほど典型的ではない私のトップウォーター・ルアーを今にも襲うのではないかと思いました。しかし、あまりの猛暑のため、そうしたストライクが起きるまで粘ることはできませんでした。）
