The pursuit of my peculiar dream continued this morning at one spot along the Ohashi River. The fishing report on a local newspaper said Japanese sea bass were being caught along the river. Indeed, there were several bait fishermen along the river when I arrived at one of the riverside fishing spots. I asked one of the fishermen, “Catch anything?” He replied, “So-so.” Which most likely means, he had caught at least a few bass. My anticipation got raised. I used three plugs to which my “One Barbless Single Hook Solution” was applied: the Super Strike Zig Zag, Super Strike Little Neck Swimmer, and CCW’s Classic Danny. The strong current was running in the river this morning, so I primarily used the Zig Zag because the darter plug is known for being especially effective in a strong current. I started at 6:40 a.m. and stopped 30 minutes later. No fish has yet responded.
