The saddest thing for any lure fisherman happened to me this morning. It happened at my very first cast today. On throwing one of my favorite lures, my line snapped. I had no idea how it happened. I was using the Avet MXJ6/4, a lever drag reel with which I know I shouldn't exert any extra force to make a good cast. In addition, it was my first cast of a day, which I do with my most carefulness. So I had absolutely no clue why it happened, but my thick monofilament line snapped, and my Roberts Ranger (3 oz.) was gone. I got very sad not only because I lost one of my favorites but also because I left a plastic trash in the sea. Safuki-bana didn't have no intention to console me with a fish, but on my way back to my car I found an interesting object among many pieces of trash drifted ashore.
（今朝、ルアー釣り師にとって最も悲しいことが、私の身に起きました。今日のいちばん最初のキャストで、それは起きました。お気に入りのルアーを投げたところ、ラインがプツッと切れてしまったのです。どうしてそうなったのか全く分かりませんでした。私はアベットMXJ6/4というレバードラグリールを使っていたのですが、このリールで良いキャストをするには余分な力を入れるべきではないと分かっていました。またそれは、今日のいちばん最初のキャストだったのであり、私はふだん、とても慎重に最初のキャストをするのです。だから、なぜそれが起きたのか、まったく見当がつきませんでした。でも、私の太いナイロンラインは切れ、ロバーツのレンジャー（3 oz.）は海の藻屑と消えてしまったのです。お気に入りのルアーを失っただけでなく、プラスチックのゴミを海中に残してしまったので、とても悲しくなりました。そんな私を慰める気はサフキ鼻にはなさそうで、魚を釣らせてくれる気配はありませんでしたが、私は、車に戻る途中、漂着したゴミの中に面白い物体を見つけたのです。）
It’s a brown plastic object. It has a small amount of liquid inside, although there is no crack or opening on it. I decided to regard it as a reincarnation of my Roberts Ranger (Indeed, no one can deny the possibility that the current in the Pacific Ocean have carried it from the American continent) and to name it “Reincarnation.” It also reminded me of Line Stretcher’s Surface Tensions, which fall under the same category as Roberts Rangers. I attached a hook to the brown object, and now it looks like a genuine American lure. Doesn’t it? I am going to try it.
（茶色いプラスチックの物体です。亀裂や開口部はないのに、中に少量の液体が入っています。私はその物体を、ロバーツ・レンジャーの生まれ変わりであると考えることにし（実際、太平洋の潮流によってアメリカ大陸から運ばれてきた可能性は誰にも否定できますまい）「Reincarnation（生まれ変わり）」と名付けました。その物体はまた、ロバーツ・レンジャーと同じカテゴリーに分類されるライン・ストレッチャーのサーフェス・テンションにも似ていました。フックを取り付けてみると、まるで本物のアメリカンルアーのようじゃ、あ〜りませんか。ちょっと実際に使ってみます。）
