On my way back from Yonago City in Tottori Prefecture, I decided to visit Yasugi Port in Yasugi City, which is a port of Lake Nakaumi. I am not familiar with many fishing spots of Lake Nakaumi except for a very few belonging to Matsue City. When I arrived at Yasugi Port around 1 p.m., there was no one there as far as I could see. I followed the path on the foot of the Tokamiyama mountain, leading to Tokamiyama-Nagisa Park. There was no one at the sandy beach of park, either. Because I didn’t see any fishermen, I started to think that Yasugi Port is not as good a fishing spot as my usual spots in Lake Shinji. I was wrong. One lure fisherman had arrived at Yasugi Port while I was at Tokamiyama-Nagisa Park. I asked him, “What kind of fish can you catch here?” With a kind smile on his face, he answered, “Japanese sea bass, Japanese black porgies, and flatheads at the bottom.” “So, the same as Lake Shinji?” “Yes.” Shortly afterward he hooked one Japanese sea bass, although it came off eventually. Yasugi Port seems a very good fishing spot.
（鳥取県米子市からの帰り、中海の港である、安来市の安来港に行くことにしました。中海の釣り場の多くを、松江市に属すごく一部を除いて、私はよく知りません。午後１時頃に安来港に到着すると、見渡す限り、人影はありません。十神山の麓の小道をたどって、十神山なぎさ公園に向かいました。公園の砂浜にも人影はありませんでした。釣り人の姿がないため、安来港は、私がよく行く宍道湖の釣り場ほど良い釣り場ではないのではないかと、私は思い始めました。それは間違いでした。私が十神山なぎさ公園にいる間に、一人のルアー釣り師が安来港にやって来ていました。私は彼に「ここではどんな魚が釣れますか？」と尋ねました。彼は優しい笑顔を浮かべて「スズキ、チヌ、底を探ればマゴチですね」と教えてくれました。「つまり、宍道湖と同じですね？」 「はい。」彼はその後、最終的にはバレてしまったものの、すぐにスズキを１匹掛けました。安来港はとても良い釣り場のようです。）
