The weather forecast said that it would start raining this afternoon. So I decided to take full advantage of the good weather this morning. First I went to Saruwatari in Nonami. The forecast also said that the height of waves would be only 1 meter without a mention of swell. However, there were swells around Saruwatari about 8 a.m. when I started throwing my favorite lures. In general, the sea with moderate swells is better for the type of fishing I do than the calm sea. So my anticipation was raised, but nothing happened to my lures. Then, I decided to try Lake Shinji. Fortunately, at this time of year you can use the same tackle either at the rocky shore of the Shimane Peninsula and at Lake Shinji. Big plugs for a yellowtail amberjack should work fine for a big Japanese sea bass. So I directly drove to the lake. I maintained the anticipation I had raised at the sea til the end of lake fishing, but still nothing happened to my lures.
（天気予報では、午後から雨が降るとのことでした。そこで私は、午前中の好天を最大限に利用することにしたのです。まず、野波の猿渡に行きました。天気予報ではまた、波の高さは１メートル程度になるとされており、うねりについては触れられていませんでした。しかし、お気に入りのルアーを投げ始めた午前８時頃には、猿渡周辺にはうねりがあったのです。一般的に言えば、私がやるような釣りにとっては、穏やかな海よりも、適度なうねりのある海の方が好都合です。なので私の期待は高まったのですが、私のルアーには何も起きませんでした。次に私は、宍道湖に行ってみることにしました。幸いなことにこの時期は、島根半島の磯でも宍道湖でも、同じタックルで釣ることができます。ヒラマサ用の大きなプラグは、大型のスズキにも有効なはずなのです。というわけで、私はそのまま車で宍道湖に向かいました。海で盛り上がった期待感を、湖での釣りが終わるまで保ち続けましたが、やはり私のルアーには何も起きませんでした。）
