I don’t like fishing at night very much. This evening I managed to create just one-hour free time before it got too dark. I felt it was enough because, according to the weather forecast, the waves would remain high enough today to create some nice patches of sarashi (white churning water) along the shore. I said to myself, “If there is a Japanese sea bass under a sarashi, I should catch it without throwing my lures many times.” First I drove to Kurauchi Bay. Patches of sarashi were formed along the shore as I had anticipated. I retrieved my lures several times under the sarashi, but nothing happened. Then I drove to Etomo Harbor. There was a patch of sarashi under the tip of Sinsinbo, but no fish seemed to be around either.
（私は夜釣りがあまり好きではありません。今夕は、暗くなるまでに、なんとか１時間ほど時間が取れました。それで十分なように思いました。なぜなら天気予報によると、今日は波がずっと高いままなので、岸沿いに良いサラシ（かき混ぜられた白い水）ができているはずだからです。私は思いました。「もしもサラシの下にスズキがいれば、何度もルアーを投げなくても釣れるだろう」。私はまず、倉内湾に行きました。予測通り、岸沿いにサラシができています。数回、ルアーをサラシの下に通しましたが、何も起きませんでした。次に恵曇港へ行きました。新々防の下にサラシがありましたが、ここにも魚はいないようでした。）
