The sea was very calm this morning. No waves. No swells. The surface was almost completely flat. Speaking from my experience, such an extreme calmness is not good for fishing. In addition, I could not see any baitfish. So I did not have high expectations, but one fish struck my Hopkins No=Eql when I was retrieving it just below the surface. The fish pulled hard and tried to run toward the bottom. It could be a yellowtail amberjack, but I am not sure because the barbless hook of the lure came out before I could see the body of the fish.
