October is the most productive month for my fishing. If my memory is correct, the 10th month in a year has produced most of my catches of the yellowtail amberjack since 2014. So I was more excited than usual when I started casting my lures toward the vast ocean from Saruwatari in Nonami this morning. The sea was choppy. I felt one of my American lures would draw a powerful strike from the fish at any moment, but all that I could hook was a small needle fish on the Gator Casting Spoon. The fish came off before I landed it. On my way back to the parking space, I found a beautiful Sawagani (Japanese small river crab) in the woods.
