(No. 184) Call Me “Double-Handle-no-Masa” (「ダブルハンドルのマサ」と呼んでください)

I finished today’s job earlier than I had expected, so I went to fishing this afternoon. First I visited Ikesu, a small rocky spot that lies to the east of Etomo Harbor. The view around Ikesu is gorgeous and I thought I could take a beautiful picture under the clear sky. Indeed I took nice pictures, but the spot was occupied by a bait fisherman. So I turned back and drove to Kurauchi Bay, which lies several minutes to the east of Ikesu.

（今日の仕事が思ったよりも早く終わったので、私は午後、釣りに行ったのでした。まずは、恵曇港の東に位置する小さな岩場、生須を訪れました。生須周辺の眺めは素晴らしく、晴天下では美しい写真が撮れるだろうと思ったのです。確かに素敵な写真は撮れたのですが、エサ釣りの方が先に釣っておられたのでした。そこで私は引き返し、生須の東、車で数分のところにある倉内湾に行きました。）
There was nobody at the bay. The water was so calm and clear that I couldn’t feel it was very good for fishing, but it was good for sea bathing. So I alternately swam and fished. I also took pictures of my reel to which two handles are attached these days. In one of my previous posts (No. 178) I had declared that I would be a more complete ambidextrous fisherman, and now I feel I became one. The reel with two handles feels good. At least it is more symmetric than a reel with only one handle (lol). From now on, please call me “Double-Handle-no-Masa,” which means “Masa (my name), who uses a reel with two handles” in English.

（湾には人影はありませんでした。海はとても穏やかで澄んでおり、釣りにはあまり適しているようには思えませんでしたが、海水浴にはもってこいなのでした。私は、泳いでは釣りをし、釣りをしては泳ぎました。そして、ハンドルが二つ付いているリールの写真を撮ったりもしました。以前の投稿（No.178）において私は、より完全な左右両利きの釣り師になると宣言し、そして今、そういう釣り師になれたと思います。ハンドルが二つ付いたリールは、良い感じです。少なくとも、ハンドルが一つだけのリールよりは、左右の均整が取れています（笑）。これからは、どうか私のことを「ダブルハンドルのマサ」と呼んでください。）
