This late afternoon I drove to Etomo Harbor. A very strong wind was blowing, and the sea outside the harbor was rough. So I thought I had a good chance to catch a Japanese sea bass inside the harbor. There were several bait fishermen around the ice plant when I arrived. They were catching small Aji fish (Japanese horse mackerel). My expectation got raised because some predatory fish, such as the Japanese sea bass or the Japanese Spanish mackerel, might be also inside the harbor to chase those Aji fish. Indeed, some predators must have been there because I saw boils inside the harbor. Unfortunately the size of my lures was way bigger than the size of those Aji fish
（今日の午後遅く、恵曇港に行きました。非常に強い風が吹いており、港の外の海は荒れていました。ですので私は、港の内側で、スズキが釣れるのではないかと考えたのです。到着した時、製氷所付近に数名のエサ釣り師の姿がありました。小さなアジを釣っておられます。私の期待は高まりました。なぜなら、そうしたアジを追って、スズキやサワラのような肉食魚も港内にいるのではないかと思ったからです。そして、肉食魚は確かにそこにいたに違いありません。なぜなら、港内でナブラが立ったからです。あいにく、私のルアーのサイズは、アジのサイズよりもずっと大きかったのでした。）
