The rain should have stopped before dawn, but I was still in my car at 8 a.m. and looking down at Ohtoko-bana from a parking space on the hillside. When finally I started walking down to the spot, I found there was already one fisherman standing at Ohtoko-bana. He was the guy whom I mentioned in my two previous posts. Today he was with only one rod but carrying a huge net on his back. He told me he saw some fish chasing his lure before I arrived. Excited with expectation, we kept casting our lures until about 11 a.m. but there was completely no reaction. He called it a day. I thought I would follow him soon, but the weather was drastically improving and I found it was unseasonably warm. I said to myself, “What a big change.” Writing this blog in front of the beautiful sea, I stayed at the spot much longer than I had thought.
（雨は夜明け前にはやむはずだったのですが、午前８時になっても私はまだ車の中にいて、山の中腹にある駐車場から、大床鼻を見下ろしているのでした。ついに大床鼻へ向かって降り始めると、既に一人、釣り人が立っているのに気付きました。前々回からの投稿で触れた男性でした。今日の彼は、竿は一本だけ、でも背中に大きなネットをしょっています。私が到着する前に、魚が彼のルアーを追ってきたそうです。私たちは、期待にわくわくしながら、午前11時頃までルアーを投げ続けました。でも、全く何の反応もありません。彼は釣りを切り上げ、帰っていきました。私もすぐに彼の後に続くつもりでしたが、天気が急激に良くなっており、季節外れの暖かさであることに気づきました。「なんて変わりようだ」と私は思いました。美しい海に向かってこのブログを書きながら、私は自分が考えていたよりもずっと長く、その場にとどまったのでした。）
