After living in the United States for 15 years, I came back to my hometown Matsue, a small city in the western part of Japan, in November 2014. I imposed a simple rule on myself. Use only American saltwater lures for at least one year and report what they catch...... When a year had passed since then, I decided not to lift this ridiculous restriction. I am still using only American lures.（2014年11月、15年間のアメリカ生活を終え、島根県松江市に帰郷した私は、自分自身に一つのルールを課しました。少なくとも１年間、アメリカのソルトルアーだけを使い、釣果を報告すること......。そして１年が経過した時、私は、この馬鹿馬鹿しい制約を解除しないことに決めました。今もまだ、アメリカのルアーだけを使っているのです。）

(No. 25) No Fish at Koura Public Beach & Etomo Harbor (古浦海水浴場と恵曇港にて釣果なし)




The weather forecast said that it would start raining on Monday, so I planned to go fishing on Sunday morning. Waking up at 5 a.m., I found the horrible thing happened overseas, but anyway I went to the rocky area next to Koura Public Beach and then nearby Etomo Harbor. My heart was torn apart intermittently by various emotions, so I couldn’t enjoy fishing. I stopped it much earlier than usual.
（天気予報では月曜日から雨が降り出すとのことだったので、日曜日の朝に釣りに行く計画を立てました。朝５時に目覚めると、恐ろしい出来事が海外で起きていましたが、とにかく私は古浦海水浴場の隣の岩場へ、そして近くの恵曇港へ行きました。断続的にいろいろな思いが浮かび、心は千々に乱れて、釣りを楽しむことはできません。いつもよりずっと早く切り上げました。）
