Since my last post I have been to Susumi-hana twice. The demand for “Bebe” shellfish in my small circle of friends is larger than I expected. I did fishing as well as collecting the shellfish. Using my PENN Fathom II lever drag reel, I threw my topwater plugs yesterday. In other words, although my reel was “Fathom 2,” my fishing was “Fathom 0.” Remember? “Fathom” is “a unit of length equal to six feet (approximately 1.8 m), chiefly used in reference to the depth of water.” It is approximately equivalent to “Hiro,” a unit of depth in Japanese. Topwater plugs move on the surface. So they are “Fathom 0.” Today I did “Fathom 0.5” fishing because I used the Super Strike Zig Zag and Northbar Bottledarter, both of which swim under the surface, probably three feet under. So they are “Fathom 0.5” plugs. No “Fathom” has produced any result so far.
