I don’t like secrets. I might have a few that I will bring to my grave, but in general I don’t like secrets very much, particularly about fishing. That’s why on this blog I am open about fishing spots I have been to, regardless of whether I catch fish or not. However, for this post, I am sorry I have to be secretive. I am planning to introduce the joy of collecting “Bebe” shellfish to ”Local Vitalization Cooperators” (LVCs). LVCs are people officially assigned to vitalize local communities, some of which are from outside the Sanin Region. One or a few LVCs are interested in the “Bebe” shellfish food in the region.
（私は秘密が好きではありません。墓場まで持っていく秘密が、この私にもいくつかあるような気はしますが、一般的に、秘密はあまり好きではないのです。特に釣りに関してはそうです。そのため、このブログでは、魚が釣れたかどうかに関わらず、私が行った釣り場について公開してきました。しかし、今回の投稿については、場所を秘密にしなければならないことをお詫びします。ベベ貝採りの楽しさを「地域おこし協力隊」の皆さんに紹介しようと思っているのです。「地域おこし協力隊」とは、地域社会の活性化を担うために公に任命された人たちであり、中には、山陰地方以外から来られた人もいます。この「地域おこし協力隊」のお一人かあるいは数人が、山陰地方におけるベベ貝の食用に興味をお持ちなのです。）
I would like to help them to collect the shellfish at a place as safe as possible. So this morning I went hunting for a suitable spot for them and I think I found one. Until I bring them to the spot, I want to keep its whereabouts a secret. Because I would like them to bring sufficient number of “Bebe” shellfish home. The path in the woods to the secret spot was slippery but didn’t have an assist rope. So I attached the rope, which I had collected from the shore of Susumi Bay last year (No. 1341), to a few trees along the path. Now the secret spot is ready for welcoming LVCs.
（私は、彼らができるだけ安全な場所で貝を採れるように手助けしたいと思っています。そこで今朝、彼らが貝を採るのに適した場所を探しに行き、そして見つけたと思います。彼らにその場所を紹介するまでは、その場所を秘密にしておきたいのです。なぜなら、彼らに十分な数のベベ貝を持ち帰ってほしいからです。その秘密の場所へ降りていく林中の小道は滑りやすく、しかし、補助ロープが設置されていませんでした。そこで、昨年、須々海湾の岸辺で拾ってきたロープ（No. 1341）を、小道沿いの木々に結び付けました。これでこの秘密の場所は「地域おこし協力隊」の皆さんを迎える準備が整いました。）
