As you may know, I have treated all of my plugs with my “One Barbless Single Hook Solution.” It’s based on the “One Hook Solution,” which has been advocated by Mr. Dave Anderson & Mr. Jerry Audet. I just advanced their wonderful concept a little bit further. They use only one treble hook; I use only one barbless single hook. The thing is, I have not caught any fish on plugs treated with my solution. To be more precise, no fish has attacked my plugs. I am still confident about my unique solution, but I also feel I need to show you how effective it can be (or not). So these days I often go to Lake Shinji because I am seeing more and more lure fishermen there for the Japanese sea bass. In order to show how my solution can work, I should go to a place with plenty of fish. However, as far as I can see, not only I but also other fishermen have not yet caught any bass. While doing such an unique challenge, I made a decision to bid farewell to my PENN 706Z spinning reel. I once believed my 706Z was the only reel exempted from my vicious pattern (“Whenever I get one reel, I want to leave another.”), but now I feel I have enjoyed this wonderful bail-less reel enough and some other fishermen should try it.
