Yesterday I drove to Oda City, which is west of Izumo City, which is west of my hometown Matsue City. I participated in an interesting book festival called “Honya Shugo,” which means “Bookstore Gathering” in English. On my way to Oda City, I took a break at the roadside station Kirara-Taki in Izumo City. There is a beautiful beach behind the station, which is called “Kirara-Taki-no-shita.” Although I knew I could spend only several minutes there, I went down there to throw my favorite lures toward the vast ocean. Matsue City doesn’t have such a huge sandy beach. So, whenever I am at Kirara-Taki-no-shit, I get reminded of several beaches in New York City. I wrote a story about my trip to Oda City and made up a dedicated website for it in a hurry. Although it’s all in Japanese, if you are interested, check it out.
（昨日、私の故郷である松江市の西にある出雲市の、さらに西に位置する大田市へ車で行きました。「本屋集合」という興味深い本の祭典に参加したのです。大田市へ向かう途中、出雲市の道の駅「キララ多伎」で休憩しました。この道の駅の裏には「キララ多伎の下」と呼ばれる美しい砂浜があります。ほんの数分しかそこにはいられないと分かっていましたが、広大な海に向かってお気に入りのルアーを投げました。松江市には、こんな大きな砂浜はありません。だから、キララ多伎の下に行くと、私はいつもニューヨーク市のビーチを思い出します。大田市への旅行記を急いで書き、専用のウェブサイトも作りました。すべて日本語ですが、興味のある方はぜひご覧ください。）
