As you may know, I love the PENN 706Z spinning reel. I even think it’s the best spinning reel ever built. It’s a workhorse. It’s unbreakable. It’s simple. It’s bail-less. It’s fun to use. It looks cool… Recently I found one more reason to love the reel. It could be a musical instrument! If you spin its spool on a hard surface, the spool spins for an unexpectedly long time, making irresistible sound. I am thinking I may sample the sound to create a good beat!
