I don't like to own a lot of things. The fewer my belongings are the more satisfied I am. I don’t know why, but that’s who I am. For example, I like to read books but don’t own many. Except for carefully chosen several, I have given books after reading to my friends or donated them to local second-hand book stores. The same is true for fishing. I used to own some bail-less spinning reels, but, a few years ago, I suddenly realized that I wouldn’t need them for my fishing in Japan any more. As soon as I realized it, I parted with them. I felt refreshingly great. My problem with such realization is that I felt it was absolutely right then but later I sometimes feel differently (lol). I don't remember how many times I have bought a book I owned earlier or borrowed it from the library. Recently the same happened in my relationship with bail-less spinning reels.
（私は、あまり多くのものを所有するのが好きではありません。持ち物が少なければ少ないほど、満足感を覚えるのです。なぜだか分かりません。私はそういう人間なのです。例えば、読書は好きなのに、本はあまり持っていません。厳選した数冊を除いて、読んだ本はすべて友人にあげたり、地元の古本屋に寄付したりしています。釣りも同じです。以前はベールレスのスピニングリールをいくつか所有していたのですが、数年前、日本での釣りにはもはや必要ないという気づきを得たのです。そう気づくやいなや、すぐにリールを手放しました。せいせいしました。しかし、こういう気づきの厄介なところは、その時は絶対に正しいことだと感じていたのに、後になって違う気持ちになってしまうことです（笑）。以前所有していた本を、何度、書い直したり、図書館で借りたりしたことでしょう。最近、ベールレスのスピニングリールとの関係において、同じことが起きました。）
Suddenly I realized I had been in the mood for using them. That's the reason why I purchased the Peerless BAM 510 M reel the other day. But the French reel was not very usable for me, so it became a prize for the winner of my translation contest (Namaji-san, the winner of the contest, analyzed and made the reel useful for him, so I am really glad for the reel). Instead of the French reel, I obtained an old PENN 706Z because it was the cheapest bail-less reel on the second-hand reel market. The American bail-less reel worked fine for me this morning (although no fish).
（ふと、ベールレスをまた使いたくなっている自分に気づいたのです。先日、ピアレスBAM 510 Mリールを購入したのはそれが理由だったのですが、このフランス製のリールは私にとってはあまり使い物にならず、翻訳コンテストの賞品と化してしまいました（しかし、コンテスト優勝者のナマジさんが、あのリールを分析して使えるようにされたので、リールのために本当に良かったと思います）。フランスのリールの代わりに私は、中古リール市場で一番安かったベールレス・リール、PENN 706Zを手に入れました。このアメリカ製のベールレス・リールは、今朝、私のために素晴らしい働きぶりでした。が、魚は釣れませんでした。）
