This afternoon I was standing on the hillside overlooking Ikesu, one of the most gorgeous fishing spots in the Etomo area. But there is no photo of Ikesu I can use for this post. I was on the verge of fainting due to the heat and didn’t have any spare energy to take pictures. I had a narrow escape and successfully went back to my car before being knocked out by heatstroke, but I was close. I had been cutting some weeds along the path to Ikesu, failing to realize that the temperature had risen much higher than the weather forecast had said earlier. I escaped to Kurauchi Bay, expecting the cold marine water to save me. I jumped into the sea, and my body temperature got lowered enough for fishing. The sea was a bit choppy and cloudy, and I felt a Japanese sea bass would attack my lures at any moment, but nothing happened.
（今日の午後は、恵曇地区屈指の絶景を誇る釣り場、生須を見下ろす丘の斜面に立っていました。しかし、この投稿に使える生須の写真はありません。私は、暑さで気を失いそうになっており、写真を撮る余裕などなかったのでした。間一髪、熱中症で倒れることなく車に戻ることができたものの、危ないところでした。私は、生須への小道沿いの雑草を刈っていたのですが、天気予報よりもずっと高く気温が上がっていたことに気づかなかったのです。冷たい海水が助けてくれるだろうと期待して、倉内湾に逃げ込みました。海に飛び込むと体温が下がり、釣りができる状態になりました。海は少し波立ち、濁っていて、今にもスズキがルアーに襲い掛かりそうな予感がしましたが、何も起きませんでした。）
