The weather forecast said that it would rain today, and probably many people in the Sanin Region hoped that a substantial amount of rain would fall. We didn’t have enough precipitation in the rainy season (“Tsuyu”) which had ended much sooner than usual, so I guess people are getting concerned that water shortage might occur. Indeed it rained today, but the precipitation was not as much as we had hoped. Some might even say, “No, it didn’t rain at all today.” The gloomy overcast produced only a bit of rain. Taking advantage of the lower temperature due to the overcast, I went to Saruwatari in Nonami this afternoon. The sea around Saruwatari was stagnant. Small fish along the shore looked as if they felt suffocated.
