It didn’t take long until I realized I was missing the click sound of Penn 706Z. So I took out all the excessive grease from the inside of the reel. Unlike when I was in the U.S., I don’t need my reels to be submersible now. With the reel that became noisy again, I went to the bank to the side of Matsue City Hall. Praying a bird wouldn’t get caught this time, I did some fishing performance using American pencil poppers. There was another reason behind my performance. “Matsue Farmers Market” was in progress at the terrace of City Hall. It was an eco-conscious monthly marketplace, where all the vendors had something good to the environment at their booths. In order to support them in my own way, I did fishing performance on the bank, which is separated from the marketplace by one road. I hoped my performance could be a little help to the cheerfulness of the marketplace. Some parents with kids came to see me throwing big plugs. The kids must love to go fishing when they get older.
（PENN 706Zのクリック音を懐かしんでいることに気づくまで、そう時間はかかりませんでした。私は、リール内部の余分なグリスをすべて抜き取りました。米国にいた頃とは違い、今はリールを水中で使う必要はないのです。再び騒々しくなったリールを携えて、松江市役所横の土手へ行きました。「今日は鳥が釣れませんように」と祈りながら、米国製のペンシル・ポッパーを使った釣りパフォーマンスを披露しました。このパフォーマンスには、もう一つ理由がありました。市役所のテラスで「まつえファーマーズマーケット」が開催中だったのです。環境に配慮した月例のマーケットで、出店者は皆、環境に優しいものをブースに置いているのでした。これを自分なりに応援するため、マーケットから道を一本隔てた土手の上で、釣りパフォーマンスを披露したのです。私のパフォーマンスで、市場がほんの少しでも、より賑やかになればいいと思いました。大きなプラグを投げている私の姿を見に、親子連れの方が来られました。大きくなったら子供たちは、きっと釣りに行くのが大好きになるでしょう。）
