I think Senjojiki in Mitsu is one of the most popular fishing spots in the area. The access to it is wonderfully easy. You don’t need to break a sweat to reach there. On my way to Saruwatari in Nonami this morning, I found Senjojiki empty. There was no fisherman on the huge flat rock. It was kind of unusual. So I took advantage of the opportunity. To my surprise, the short path in the sloped woods toward Senjojiki was almost blocked with weeds. Obviously no one had taken the trouble to cut them. I wondered, “How come?” Then, I assumed the reason why the weeds remained so rampant although many fishermen must have been there. What those fishermen going to Senjojiki want most is easiness. When they want easiness, they don’t like to make any “unnecessary” effort. Hmm. I am wondering if I should return to Senjojiki with a pair of shears.
（御津の千畳敷は、この辺りで最も人気のある釣り場の一つだと思います。アクセスが素晴らしく容易であり、汗をかくことなく、釣り場にたどり着けるのです。今朝、野波の猿渡に行く途中、千畳敷が無人であることに気づきました。大きな平らな岩の上には、釣り人の姿がありません。ちょっと珍しい光景でした。私はその機会を利用してみることにしました。驚いたことに、千畳敷に向かう斜面の林の中の小道が、雑草でほとんど塞がれていました。明らかに誰も草刈りの労を取らなかったようです。「いったいどうして？」と不思議に思いました。そして私は、釣り人がたくさん来たはずなのに雑草がはびこっている理由を推測しました。千畳敷に行く釣り人が最も求めているのは、手軽さでしょう。人は、手軽さを求めている時、「余計な」労力を使いたくはないのです。うーん。草刈りハサミをもって千畳敷に戻ろうかどうか迷っています。）
