This morning, my good deed finally paid off. Last month I maintained the track in the woods leading to Shirataki-bana in Nonami. Cutting obstructing branches and tying new red ribbons to trees, I thought I did a good job, but I had one regret. When you climb the first hill in the woods, there is a fork. Turning to the right, you can go to Naka-bana. To the left, you can go to Shirataki-bana. I once mistakenly took the left turn when I actually wanted to go to Naka-bana, and I got almost lost in the evil woods. So I thought I should have attached a more conspicuous sign than just a red ribbon to a tree at the fork, and that’s what I did this morning.
（今朝、私の善行が、ようやく報われました。先月、野波の白滝鼻に至る林の中の小道を整備しました。邪魔な枝を切り、新しい赤いリボンを木に結びつけて、私は良い仕事をしたと思うのですが、ひとつだけ心残りがあったのです。林の中、最初の坂を登ったところに、分岐点があります。右に曲がると中鼻に、左に曲がると白滝鼻に行けます。以前、本当は中鼻に行きたいのに、間違えて左に曲がってしまい、邪悪な林の中で迷子になりかけたことがあります。ですので、分岐点周辺の木には、赤いリボンだけでなく、もっと目立つ標識をつけておくべきだと思っていたのです。そして今朝、その作業を行ったのでした。）
Rain was imminent this morning and I wasn't sure if I would have time to enjoy fishing, so I was out with only one lure: the Northbar Bottledarter. In general, I don’t like to get wet in woods. So I drove to Lake Shinji, where I could easily take shelter in my car if it started raining. There was a strong headwind on the north shore of the lake. The water was choppy but not very muddy. The color of the water looked good, and a huge Japanese sea bass hit my Bottledarter. It was a very fat, 80 cm (31 in.) long fish. I gave it to one of my neighborhood restaurants. You might enjoy the fresh fish at B-Bridge.
（今朝は雨が迫っており、釣りを楽しむ余裕があるかどうかわからなかったので、ルアーは１つだけ持って出ていました。ノースバーのボトルダーターです。私はだいたい、林の中で雨に濡れるのは嫌いです。そこで、雨が降ってきても車の中に避難しやすい宍道湖に車を走らせました。湖の北岸には強い逆風が吹いていました。水面は波立っているものの、それほど濁ってはいません。良さそうな水の色でした。そして、大きなスズキが私のボトルダーターにヒットしたのです。全長80センチの、とても太った魚でした。近所のレストランに贈呈することにしました。そのレストラン、B-Bridgeに行けば、新鮮な魚が味わえるかもしれませんよ。）
