When I was leaving the shore of the Ohashi River this morning, I had a chat with one of bait fishermen on the shore. He told me he had not caught anything since he caught a few Japanese black porgies a few months ago. It might be only me, but I have an impression that the number of Japanese sea bass coming to the river and then to Lake Shinji during the summertime have dwindled for recent years. After the Ohashi River, I went to Lake Shinji. A small fish bit the tail feather of my CCW’s Classic Danny. Or I should say the fish gave the lure a light kiss. It was as if nature had wanted to console me.
（今朝、大橋川の岸辺を離れる時、エサ釣り師の一人と話をしました。数カ月前にチヌ（黒鯛）を数匹釣って以来、何も釣れていない、とのことです。私だけかもしれないのですが、ここ数年、大橋川、そして宍道湖にやってくる夏のスズキの数が減っているような気がしています。大橋川の後、宍道湖に行きました。CCWのクラシック・ダニーの尻尾の羽根に、小魚がバイトしました。いや、ルアーに軽くキスしたと言うべきでしょうか。それはまるで、自然が私を慰めたがっているかのようでした。）
