Because the Japanese sea bass in Lake Shinji had been unresponsive to my lures, I went to Safuki-bana in Nonami this morning. As soon as I started climbing down the trail leading to Safuki-bana, I realized that I might not be able to do fishing this morning. Three weeks had passed since I last visited Safuki-bana on May 15, and the weeds and plants along the trail were so rampant during the period that some sections of the trail were covered with them. I had to cut them and maintain the trail. It took me almost two hours to complete the mission, and I became so tired that I couldn’t start fishing. Although I didn’t do fishing, I came across a fish. I found a completely dried carcass of a black scraper among the weeds. It might have escaped while the fisherman was taking a break in the woods. Poor fish.
（宍道湖のスズキがルアーに反応しないので、今朝は野波のサフキ鼻に行きました。サフキ鼻に続く小道を下り始めた途端、今朝は釣りができないかもしれないと気づきました。前回５月15日にサフキ鼻を訪れてから３週間が経過しており、その間に、小道沿いの雑草や植物が猛威を振るい、小道の一部を覆ってしまっていたのです。それらを刈り取って、小道を整備する必要がありました。その任務を完了するのに２時間近くかかってしまい、私はとても疲れたので、もう釣りはできませんでした。釣りはしなかったのですが、魚との出会いはありました。雑草の中に、完全に乾いたウマヅラハギの死骸があったのです。釣り人が林の中で休憩しているときに、逃げ出したのでしょうか。かわいそうな魚です。）
