This morning I started throwing my lures about 7 a.m. from the tip of Nagasaki-bana in Mitsu. The sea was so calm, and there were no bait fish as far as I could see. There were no birds, either. Everything was so quiet that I couldn’t feel I would catch any fish. However, when 30 minutes or so had passed since I began fishing, a strong wind suddenly started blowing from the south and improved my casting distance significantly. I felt I might catch some fish soon thanks to the sudden change, but the wind stopped as suddenly as it started, and nothing exciting happened when the strong wind was blowing.
（今朝は、午前７時頃、御津の長崎鼻の先端からルアーを投げ始めました。海はとても穏やかで、目の届く範囲にベイトフィッシュ（大きな魚の餌となる小魚）の姿はありませんでした。鳥の姿もありません。すべてがとても静かなので、魚が釣れそうな気はしませんでした。しかし、釣りを開始してから30分ほどたった時、突然、強い南風が吹き始め、私のルアーの飛距離は著しく伸びたのでした。この突然の変化のおかげで、すぐに何か釣れるかもしれないと感じたのですが、風は、吹き始めた時と同様に、突然やんでしまい、そして、強風が吹いている間も、何も面白いことは起きませんでした。）
