I tend to use a very strong rod and reel especially when I fish at any rocky shore of the Shimane Peninsula. I want my fishing tackle as strong as possible. I want it ready for a huge yellowtail amberjack. These days I suspect the following Murphy's law has been relevant to my fishing. “Whenever you are ready for a huge fish, you don’t even catch a small one.” So I tried to outsmart this Murphy's law that actually I have recently made up. I have a PENN Mag 10 reel, which is the smallest and probably the weakest among my beefy conventional reels. Originally I planned to use it solely for the Japanese sea bass fishing in Lake Shinji, but I used it at Susumi Bay and Maruiwa this afternoon. As a result, I found that outwitting the Murphy's law is not easy. As Dennis at 2nd Chance Tackle said in one of his videos, Mag 10 is small but strong enough for big game. In other words, my tackle was still ready for catching a huge yellowtail amberjack.
