I saw no car parked at the parking space for Maruiwa when I was driving on the seaside winding road this morning. Today is Monday. There seemed fewer fishermen along the shore of the Shimane Peninsula. I left my car at the parking space and climbed down to Susumi Bay. Then, after climbing over a hill, I reached Maruiwa. The sea was clear and calm. A short while later I saw a small fishing boat sailing toward me. It was on its way to one of spots where the fisherman on the boat would pick up turban shells from the bottom. I made a slight bow to him. For some reason, he roared with laughter and shouted to me, “No good?”
（今朝、海沿いの曲がりくねった道を運転していると、丸岩へ行くための駐車スペースに車がないのが見えました。今日は月曜日です。島根半島の沿岸に出ている釣り人の数は少ないようです。駐車スペースに車を残した私は、須々海湾に降りて行きました。そして丘を越えて、丸岩に到着です。海は透明で穏やかでした。しばらくすると、小さな漁船がこちらに向かってくるのが見えました。船上の漁師が海底のサザエを採る場所へと移動中なのです。私は軽く会釈をしました。すると彼はなぜか大笑いし、私に叫んだのです。「駄目か？」）
