Hoping large
Japanese sea bass already became responsive to large lures such as my American
ones, I started fishing at the northern shore of Lake Shinji about 3 p.m. There
were more fishermen than I had expected. All of them were bait fishermen who used
two or three fishing rods. One of regulars with whom I got recently acquainted told
me that some local fishing contest was in progress.
（大型のスズキが、私が使うアメリカのルアーのような大型のルアーに反応し始めていることを期待しつつ、午後３時頃から宍道湖の北岸で釣り始めました。予測を超える釣り人の数でした。その全員が、２〜３本の竿を出すエサ釣り師です。最近知り合った常連さんによると、何らかの釣り大会が開かれているのだとか。)
When I was carefully
casting my lures between them, I noticed one lure fisherman appeared and stood
beside me. He said, “Would you please teach me how to fish?” It was a totally
unexpected request. He said that he had never fished before. I showed him how
to cast a lure with a spinning reel. I also said, “Never forget to look behind
before each cast. A curious kid may stand just behind you.” He thanked me
politely and started casting his lure by himself. He was not bad for a
beginner. After that, I moved around and kept casting my lures until sunset. I
didn’t catch anything, but I did a nice fishing.
（そうした釣り人の間で慎重にルアーを投げている時、一人のルアー釣り師が現れ、私の横に立ちました。「釣り方を教えてもらえませんか？」と彼は言うのです。まったく意外な頼みでした。釣りをするのは初めてだそうです。私は、スピニングリールを使ったルアーの投げ方を教えてあげました。「投げる時は必ず後ろを見ること。子供が後ろに立って見物していることがあるから」とも言いました。彼は礼儀正しくお礼を言うと、一人でルアーを投げ始めました。初心者にしては、なかなか上手です。その後、私は動き回り、日没までルアーを投げ続けました。何も釣れませんでしたが、楽しい釣りができました。）
先日釣り方を教えていただいた者です。お会いした次の日も早朝から同じ釣り場で釣りをしていたのですが、釣果はゼロです(^_^;)私は大学生で、部活も講義も始まり、忙しくなると思いますが暇なときにはまたあの釣り場に行こうとおもいます。

ReplyDelete宍道湖のスズキ（シーバス）がルアーで本格的に釣れ始めるのは、これからだと思います。
例年、5月中旬から10月中旬頃まで宍道湖で釣れますよ（その前後は、大橋川や中海で釣れます）。
