Actually I was under Omisaki Bridge
three days ago and met some familiar faces, but it was immediately after I
finished the lengthy last post on a fishing
permit system, so that no energy was left in me to write another piece
especially when neither I nor other fishermen caught any fish. Today I was back
at the spot about 7 a.m. The conditions did not seem to have changed.
When I was about to wrap up about 9 a.m., a small van quietly
approached and stopped behind me. “Don’t throw away its package!” The driver yelled
at me, looking at my lure. He was talking about packages of new lures.
（実は３日前にも私は大海崎橋の下にいて、懐かしいお顔と再会していたのですが、魚釣りの許可証制度に関する長たらしい前回の投稿を書いた直後だったため、その釣行について投稿するエネルギーは残っていなかったのでした。私だけでなく他の誰にも何も釣れなかったのですから、なおさらです。今日、私は朝の７時に橋の下に舞い戻りました。状況は、いっさい変化していないようです。９時になり、そろそろ帰る支度をしていると、小さなヴァンが静かにやって来て、私の後ろに停まりました。「その箱、捨てんでよ！」と運転手は、私のルアーに目をやって叫びました。運転手は、新しいルアーが入っているパッケージについて言っているのです。）
I had found
that there were too many packages and fishing lines left at the spot. I was not
sure whether they were thrown away on the spot or the strong current washed
them up. To the driver I showed my today’s catch (not fish but tangled lines
that I picked up). He was found to be a regular fisherman around Omisaki
Bridge. He said he would pick up the
litter whenever he came to the spot. We hit it off immediately and talked about
how some fishermen, whether young or old, had disgusting manners. Hey, litter-throwing
ill-mannered fishermen, beware of us! We won’t let you get away if we catch you
in the act of throwing away!
（その場所には、ルアーのパッケージと釣り糸があまりにも多く残されていることに、私は気づいていました。それらが、その場で捨てられたのか、あるいは、どこか別の場所で捨てられたものが強い流れのせいで打ち上げられたのかは、分かりません。私は運転手に向かって今日の成果を示しました（といっても、魚のことではなくて、私が拾った釣り糸のことですよ）。彼は、ここの常連の釣り人であることが判明しました。ここに来られた時には、いつもゴミを拾っておられるそうです。私たちはすぐに意気投合し、年齢に関係なく、許しがたい行儀の釣り人がいることについて話しました。ゴミをぽんぽん投げ捨てる行儀の悪い釣り人の皆さん、お気をつけあれ！ もし私たちがその場を見かけたら、ただでは逃しませんよ！）
