There were
already three lure fishermen at Nanbo, a breakwater in Etomo Harbor, when I
arrived at the spot shortly after sunrise. Two of them told me that they had
caught a baby Japanese sea bass and a small fluke respectively, but nobody
caught any fish after my arrival. I left the spot around 8 a.m. and drove to
Tayu, a hamlet to the east of Etomo.
（夜明け直後に恵曇港の防波堤の一つ、南防に到着すると、既に３人のルアー釣り師がいらっしゃいました。そのうちのお二人から、それぞれセイゴと小さなヒラメが釣れたとお聞きしました。しかし、私が到着してからは、誰にも何も釣れません。私は午前８時頃にその釣り場を離れ、恵曇の東にある手結集落まで行きました。）
I happened to arrive
at the hamlet during the preparation of Tondo-san. I witnessed the local
residents raising up the huge tower composed of bamboo with two paintings of a
red sea bream. One of the residents told me that Tondo-san is an annual festival
of Shinto for a good catch of fish. After taking pictures of Tondo-san, I
started fishing around Tayu Harbor. Not only I but also other several fishermen
had no luck. Before I left the harbor around 10 a.m., I prayed to Tondo-san for a good catch
not only for Tayu residents but also for me.
（手結集落に到着した時は、ちょうど「とんどさん」の準備の最中でした。地元の方々が、鯛の絵が二つ取り付けられた竹製の大きな塔を立てられるのを見学しました。お一人にお聞きしたところ、「とんどさん」とは、毎年行われる大漁祈願の神事だそうです。「とんどさん」の写真を撮った後、手結港の周辺で釣りを始めました。しかし、私だけでなく、他の釣り人にも運がありませんでした。10時頃に湾を離れる前に、手結の方々だけでなく、私もまた大漁となるよう、「とんどさん」に祈願しました。）

僕も、懲りもせず、早朝から、大床鼻釣行しましたが、またもや撃沈です。
水温のせいか、付近の磯もベイトが全くいないので、青物が寄ってこないですね。
