My photo
After living in the United States for 15 years, I came back to my hometown Matsue, a small city in the western part of Japan, in November 2014. I imposed a simple rule on myself. Use only American saltwater lures for at least one year and report what they catch...... When a year had passed since then, I decided not to lift this ridiculous restriction.

(No. 391) No Fish at Ichinose in Koizu

Somehow I went to bed earlier than usual last night, and I woke up this morning early enough to go to a fishing spot in Izumo City and start casting lures as soon as daybreak. I drove to Ichinose in Koizu. Unlike Saruwatari, another fishing spot in Matsue City to which I had gone yesterday morning, the access to Ichinose from a parking space is easy. You don’t need to climb down a bushy path in the woods. The fishing spot is just across from the parking space. Partly because of this easy access, there were already several fishermen on the spot when I arrived in the dark around 5 a.m. Until I called it a day about 3 and a half hours later, some had left and others had come to the spot. A few of them were lure fishermen and they seemed to use metal jigs. Only I used topwater lures. Regardless of the lure type, no one was lucky enough this morning.
