This is the second post today. I faithfully followed the kid’s recommendation that I had mentioned in my previous post, and I reappeared at the lakeside after supper. The lake was still swollen due to the heavy rain in the morning. I kept casting some of my recent favorites including Roberts Whistler. I like the topwater lure very much because I cannot imagine a simpler lure than Roberts Whistler (or Ranger). The simpler a lure is, the more I love it. Just before sunset, the lure drew a long-awaited strike. The fish was not hooked and I was not sure whether it was a Japanese sea bass or needlefish, but I got excited instantly. There was no fisherman around, but I shouted, “Hit!” as if there were a few and I let them know the presence of fish.
（本日２度目の投稿です。前回の投稿で触れた男の子の勧めに忠実に従った私は、夕食後、再び湖岸に姿を現しました。湖は、午前の豪雨のせいで、増水したままでした。私は、ロバーツ・ホイッスラーを含む最近のお気に入りを投げ続けました。私は、このトップウォーター・ルアーが大好きです。なぜなら、ロバーツ・ホイッスラー（あるいはレンジャー）よりもシンプルなルアーは想像できないからです。シンプルであればあるほど、私はそのルアーが好きになります。日没の直前、このルアーに待望のストライクがありました。魚は針にかかりませんでしたし、その魚が果たしてスズキだったのかダツだったのか確信は持てませんでしたが、私は即座に興奮しました。周囲に釣り人の姿はなかったものの、「来た！」と、私は叫んだのです。それはまるで、周囲には釣り人が２、３人いて、魚の存在を彼らに伝えているかのようでした。）
