After living in the United States for 15 years, I came back to my hometown Matsue, a small city in the western part of Japan, in November 2014. I imposed a simple rule on myself. Use only American saltwater lures for at least one year and report what they catch...... When a year had passed since then, I decided not to lift this ridiculous restriction. (No. 42) Big Japanese Sea Bass around Omisaki Bridge (大海崎橋にて大きなスズキ)




The “2015 Sea Bass Party” officially began at 5 p.m. I started fishing at Mawatashi Harbor of Daikon Island in Lake Nakaumi, and then moved along the shore clockwise doing the run-and-gun style fishing. Just before sunset, around Omisaki Bridge, I caught a big Japanese sea bass with Super Strike Little Neck Swimmer. I kept fishing at the same spot for a while, but no more fish was caught. Leaving several other fishermen who still kept casting by the bridge, I drove to the tackle shop that held the competition. The fish measured 75 cm (30 in.) and 2.9 kg (6.4 lb.). The deadline for the competition is 8 a.m. tomorrow. So I will fish again early in the morning.
（「2015 シーバス・パーティー」は午後５時に正式に始まりました。私は、中海に浮かぶ大根島の馬渡港で釣り始め、時計回りに沿岸を移動しながら、ラン＆ガン方式で釣っていきました。日没直前、大海崎橋のたもとで、大きなスズキが、スーパーストライク・リトルネックスイマーで釣れました。同じ場所でしばらく粘りましたが、もう釣れません。今回の大会を主催している釣具屋に、車で向かいました。その魚は75センチ、2.9キロの大きさでした。大会の終了時間は明日の午前８時です。ですから私は、明朝早く、また釣りに行きます。）
