The almost unprecedentedly heavy rain have ravaged many areas in southwestern Japan. Although my hometown, Matsue in Shimane Prefecture, has not been damaged as much as some cities such as Kurashiki in Okayama Prefecture, the water level of Lake Shinji remained unusually high. I have been to the lake three times since this morning. I wanted to check the change of water level as much as to do fishing. Only at the second outing did one Japanese sea bass attack one of my lures. It happened when I was slowly retrieving CCW’s JJ Diver. The fish was not hooked, but it made a big splash on the swollen water.
(ほとんど前例がないほどの激しい雨が、日本の南西部に降り、多くの地域を破壊しています。私の故郷である島根県の松江市は、例えば岡山県の倉敷市のような都市ほどの被害を受けているわけではありませんが、それでも宍道湖の水位は異常に上昇しています。今日は朝から計３回、湖へ行ってみました。釣りをしたいのと同じくらい、水位の変化を確認したかったのです。スズキが私のルアーを襲ったのは、２度目の釣行の時だけでした。CCWのJJダイバーをゆっくりと引いている時にそれは起きました。魚は針にかかりませんでしたが、増水した水面に大きな飛沫を上げました。）
