(No. 68) No Fish at Taka-hana in Sanami (佐波の高鼻にて釣果なし)

I am sorry there is no photo this time. I took pictures with my Nikon Coolpix S32, but the waterproof camera for kids has been missing. I must have left it somewhere before I came home. Anyway I was at Taka-hana in Sanami this afternoon. I was with a cousin of mine who had asked me to go fishing with him. He had said, “Any place is fine. I don’t even care if I can catch fish.” We got out around 3 p.m. We predicted that we would catch no fish partly because we started fishing in broad daylight. However, soon after we arrived at the spot, we saw a boil. Some bigger fish were chasing much smaller baitfish up the surface. Raising our hope, we cast some metal jigs, but no fish bit them. After a while, there was another and bigger boil. We cast our lures frantically, but in vain.

（今回、写真がなくてすいません。ニコンのCoolpix S32で写真を撮ったのですが、この子供向け防水カメラが行方不明なのです。家に帰るまでの間にどこかで落としたのに違いありません。何はともあれ、今日の午後、私は佐波の高鼻にいたのでした。一緒に釣りに行きたいという従兄弟が一緒でした。「場所はどこでもいいよ。魚が釣れなくてもいいから」と彼は言うのです。私たちは午後３時頃に出発しました。白昼に釣り始めるということもあり、何も釣れないだろうと予測しましたが、釣り場に到着してすぐ、ナブラが立つのが見えました。大きな魚が小さなベイトフィッシュ（大きな魚の餌となる小魚）を水面に追い詰めています。希望に胸をふくらませ、私たちはメタルジグを投げましたが、魚はかみつきません。しばらくして、もう一度、さらに大きなナブラが立ちました。私たちは狂ったようにルアーを投げましたが、何も釣れないのでした。）
