A typhoon was gone. So I went to Koura Public Beach this evening. First, I
swam although the water was a bit cooler than several days ago. Then I moved to
the rocky area next to the sandy beach. Pieces of rubbish floated on water. It
was trace of the typhoon. Because my lures often picked them up, I gave up the spot
soon and moved to the tip of Sinsinbo in Etomo Harbor.
（台風が去りました。そこで私は夕方、古浦海水浴場へ行きました。数日前よりも海は少し冷たかったのですが、まずは水泳です。その後、砂浜の隣にある岩場へ移動しました。ゴミが水面に浮かんでいます。台風の名残です。ちょくちょくルアーにゴミが引っかかってしまうので、その場所はすぐにあきらめ、私は恵曇港の新々防の先端に向かいました。）
Sinsinbo is the
biggest breakwater there, whose tip is about 15 feet above the water. So I took
out my heaviest tackle, PENN Torque 9 spinning reel & Okinawa Manbika
110SXH rod. One fisherman took notice of my tackle. “What are you trying to
catch?” As opposed to mine, his tackle was very light.
He was casting a small plastic worm for Aji (Japanese horse mackerel). I said
to him, “Whatever I can catch.” With an almost amazed
smile, he encouraged me. “You may catch a yellowtail amberjack!!”
（新々防は恵曇港最大の防波堤で、その先端は、海面から約4.5メートルの高さにあります。なので私はいちばんヘビーなタックルを持ち込みました。PENNのトルク９というリールと、オキナワ・マンビカ110SXHという竿です。一人の釣り人が、私のタックルに気づきました。「何を釣られるんですか？」。私のタックルと異なり、彼のタックルはとてもライトです。小さなプラスチックワームを投げて、アジを釣っているのでした。私は彼に言いました。「なんでもいいから釣れんかなと思って」。ほとんどあきれたような笑顔で、彼は励ましてくれるのでした。「ヒラマサが釣れますよ！」）
The tip of Sinsinbo is so high that I was almost scared. In
addition, no fish bit my lures. Instead, a lot of mosquitoes started biting my
body after sunset. I gave up fishing soon and went back to
my car. The guy casting worms for Aji was still there. He asked, “Any catch?” I
answered in a loud voice, “None!!” Then, we laughed together.
（新々防の先端は高すぎて、私はほとんど怖気づいてしまいました。その上、魚は私のルアーにかみついてくれないのです。日が暮れると、代わりに蚊の大群がやって来て、私のボディーにかみついてくれるのでした。すぐに釣りをあきらめ、私は車に戻りました。アジを狙ってワームを投げていた彼がまだいます。「釣れましたか？」と彼が尋ねました。私は大声で答えました。「なんだい釣れん！」。そして、一緒に笑ったのでした。）
