The rocky area next to Koura Public Beach reminds me of Montauk (“The Surfcasting Capital of the World”) in New York, but I have never seen other fishermen here. The area may not be very productive, but occasionally you can catch nice Japanese sea bass. They may stink at Lake Shinji or some rivers, but here they are odorless and more tasty. With the Super Strike Zig Zag, my favorite American plug, I got a big fish on, but the fish jumped out of the water, and the hook came out due to my sloppiness (and probably because all of my hooks are barbless).
（古浦海水浴場の隣にある磯は、ニューヨークのモントーク（“サーフキャスティングのメッカ”）に似ていますが、私はここで釣りをしている人を見たことがありません。それほど魚影は濃くないかもしれませんが、時々、型の良いスズキが釣れます。宍道湖や河川で釣れたスズキは臭うかもしれませんが、ここのスズキには臭いがなく、より美味です。お気に入りのアメリカのプラグ、スーパーストライク・ジグザグに大きい魚がかかりました。しかし魚が水面からジャンプすると、針は外れてしまいました。私がドジったせいです（そしてもしかしたら、私の針にはカエシが付いていないせいかも）。）
